Reason: Kevin Millwood is on the mound  tonight for the Rangers and is coming off a 7-1 loss to the Blue Jays. He allowed 4 runs in the start but other then a couple mistakes he pitched a fine ball game, giving up only 5 hits in 7 innings. Unfortunately for him 3 of those hits were home runs. Millwood will get back on track tonight against the A's and his offense should give him some help as they are facing 21 year old Brett Anderson, who is 0-2 with a 5.89 Era. This powerful rangers offense should tag the rookie for a bunch of runs and have him hit the showers early.

I see the Heat opening up there home opener with a win, and Wade having an impressive offensive night. The heat are 7-10 against the spread in there last 10 games while the Hawks are 3-10. The Hawks failed to win one road game in the playoffs last year and I see that trend continuing tonight. The  HEat are 6-2 in there last 8 against Atlanta while Atlanta is 3-12 in there last 15 in Miami. Take the Heat plus the points.

On the hill for the Whites Sox is Bartolo Colon who is 1-0 with a 3.86 Era but had a hard time towards the end of last game allowing 5 runs, but he is only allowing batters to hit .201 off of him which is a good sign. He was 2-0 last season with a 3.75 Era against the Orioles.

The Diamondbacks are coming off a horribile 3-6 homestand and have been very inconsistent in both there offense and pitching. I see the rockies offense coming to life once again behind Marquis great pitching.

In his last game he flirted wih a no hitter as he sent down the first 12 batters he saw, before giving up a hit in the 5th.

Reason: The Kansas City offense which had been struggling has picked up in the last 2 games, and they get a chance to really explode today facing Carl Pavano. Saying his debut for the Indians was a bad outing is an understatement. Pavano allowed 9 runs on six hits and 2 homeruns in 1 inning. He kept missing the strike zone and when he did find it batters where driving the ball hard. On the other side though, Royals pitcher Kyle Davies continued his hot September from last year into the first week of the season. Davies pitched 7 shut out innings allowing the potent White Sox batters only 3 hits and no earned runs and striking out 8. I see this trend continuing tonight so take the Royals to win by a couple of runs.

Reason: The Wizards are a team riddiled with effort issues, and are already thinking ahead about the summer. Some might say they played some of the better teams tough lately but that is an illusion that you shouldn't fall for. Their efforts have only picked up when there is an elite team such as Lebron visiting. Against the Raptors who have been on fire of late they will not be able to wait to count down the seconds to get out of the game. I am recommending two units on this game.

Reason:  The Yankees offense has been productive in the last 3 games but can only muster 1 win due to poor pitching in the first 2 games. The Yankees bats will be very happy to get Sidney Ponson in todays game. Ponson barely made it on the Royals pitching squad after he was signed to a minor league deal. This Royals Offense has been anything but productive only putting together 2 runs a game. As long as Andy Pettite who as a lifetime record of 12-3, 3.59 era against the royals can put up a decent effort the Yankees should roll all over the Royals.

He has had a great spring training allowing only 4 earned runs , all that coming on his last start. He should keep the Pirates bats quiet. He has missed nearly 2 full years but if he can stay healthy should regain his place as the ace of this rotation.

Game: Kansas City Royals Vs Chicago White Sox

Pick: White Sox -1.5 run line for 2.3

Reason: There wasn't a more consistent starter among the White Sox rotation last year than the 23-year-old left-hander John Danks. Danks won 12 games but easily could have won five or six more, as he allowed two runs or fewer in 22 starts, tying Cy Young Award winner Cliff Lee for the most among American League pitchers. He is a very stingy pitcher that doesn't allow a lot of opportunity to score, which doesn't bode well for the royals who have only scored 4 times in 2 games. The White Sox bats should be alive tomorrow against Royals pitcher Kyle Davies, who has only posted an Era. of under 5 once in his career.
